SVIRI
It has long been known as the best wine of the Imereti region.
Three grape varieties are used: Tuituka, Tsolikouli and Kurafna.
In 1962 it was granted Protected Designation of Origin.
RACHA-LECHKHUMI
○.Geography
The Racha Rečkhumi Region together with the Kvemo Svaneti Region forms one administrative unit.
Northwest Georgia, central Greater Caucasus
It is the least populated region in the country.
Russia to the north, and the Samegrelo region to the west and south.
It is a mountainous region bordering the Imereti region, with alpine meadows and green valleys.
Altitude: 400-5,000m
○ Climate
Winters are cold and long, and there are perpetual snow and glaciers in the high mountains.
can be done.
The average temperatures in January in the two main cities of Oni and Ambrolauri are -2°C and -1°C, respectively, and in July the average temperatures are 19°C and 21°C.
The Imereti mountain grape variety Tsorikouli, cultivated in some areas, has a high sugar and acidity due to the climate and is used to make the natural semi-sweet white wine "Tvisi".
○ Soil type
The main soil type in the Rachalechihumi region is charcoal
Good humus, clay soil, limestone, flint
Mixed clay, sandy clay.
○. Grape cultivation and wine production
The Racha-Rechkhumi region, said to be the most naturally beautiful in Georgia, produces unique wines.
Although the vineyard area (approximately 1,600 hectares) is very small compared to Kakheti, the high-quality grapes harvested there produce exceptionally flavorful wines.
Although there are few vineyards in the Raçalecıkhumi region, rare varieties are cultivated there.
The majority of the vineyards are planted on the slopes of the Rioni River valley.
The lowlands of Racha province are particularly famous for the production of Khvanchikara.
The main producing areas in the Retikhumi region include Soageli, Olveli, Alpana Tvisi and Zvi Okuresi.
The most famous wines from the Racha Recikhumi region are Khuvancikara and Usahelouli.

PDO Wine Huvant Chikara
The natural semi-sweet wine "Khvanchikara" is particularly famous. In the 19th century it was called "Kiviani Wine", but in 1932 it was renamed "Khvanchikara".
It is made from a blend of two grape varieties: Alexandrouli and Mujureturi.
PDO Weintovisi
In the village of Tvisi in the Tsageli district of the Rečkhmi region, a special wine is produced from the Tsorikouli grape variety from the Imereti region.
This semi-sweet white wine has a golden hue and a refined palate reminiscent of peach and melon.
Although Tvisi's protected designation of origin was granted relatively recently, the wine is highly sought after both at home and abroad.
That's all for today.
Thank you for reading to the end today.
