The discovery of traces of winemaking has been recognized by scientists around the world. In a paper published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences in early November 2017,
"Early Stone Age Wine in Casas, Georgia" revealed that winemaking in Georgia dates back to the 6th millennium BC.

The exhibition "The Cradle of Georgian Wine" was held for about four months at the Museum of Wine Civilization in Bordeaux, France, and a qvevri was placed at the entrance to the permanent exhibition.
