◎. A family-run winery that enjoys the abundant sunshine of Bierzo and owns old vine vineyards on a hill.

 

The Amigo family has been making wine in Bierzo for generations.

This family-run winery first began bottling in 2002 and sells wine mainly locally.

The Bierzo region is a vast, sunny region with great views, and it is common for plots to be divided into smaller plots with each successive generation. Amigo owns a total of 50 plots of vineyards, and the vines there are very old, ranging from 50 to over 100 years old.

This area has a continental climate, little rainfall, and is a basin.

The soil of Bierzo is characterized by the inclusion of granite and calcareous clay.

The temperatures are very high in the summer and during the day, but the climate changes dramatically in the winter and at night, making this a region that can produce powerful Mencias with great potential.

Be sure to try the Mencía produced in the powerful soil of Bierzo.

 

 

Barroiro Selection Red Wine

BALOIRO SELECCIÓN EN VIÑA

Variety: 100% Mencia

Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel for 60 days. Aging in Austrian oak for 12 months and French oak for 6 months.

Mencia feels the sun of Bierzo.

- Aromas of cassis and youthful grapes.

You can also sense nuances of balsamic and white flowers.

This red wine also offers the minerality and power that comes from the soil.

 

 

Viña de Moya red wine

VIÑADEMOYA

Variety: Mencia 98%

Garnacha and Doña Blanca combined: 2%

Winemaking: Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel followed by 5 months of aging in French oak.

 

○. Rich in fruit and juicy flavor. A Mencia that captures the sunshine of Bierzo.

- Aromas of cassis and youthful grapes.

It also has nuances of balsamic and white flowers, and you can enjoy the minerality and strength born from the soil.

 

 

Barroiro Blanco white wine

BALOIRO Blanco

 

Varieties: Godello, Doña Blanca, Jerez (Palomino)

Brewing: Alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel, 3-

Aged for 4 months.

 

○. A popular wine that has plenty of sunlight and the natural sweetness of grapes.

A blend of vines over 50 years old, this wine offers a complex flavor with fresh quince and lemon aromas, high acidity and honey-like sweetness.

 

Selectus red wine

Variety: Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot

Winemaking: Hand-picked grapes are used, and after malolactic fermentation in large barrels of 10,000 liters, the wine is left for 18 months in new French barrels.
